How To Publish A Great Newsletter

Sunday, June 28th, 2009
Having a newsletter can easily pick your business up off the ground and make it profitable. If you do not have one, you may be missing out on the easiest way to expand your business and build trust. Here are a few tips to publishing a great newsletter.

1) Newsletters keep visitors and subscribers informed.

With a newsletter, you can inform the visitors and other internet users about your company. You can easily keep them posted and updated about what is happening within your business. You can even offer them great deals and promotional items. You can even keep current subscribers updated so they will keep returning to your website.

2) Keep your newsletter relevant to your business.

Too many times newsletter publishers will stray off topic and write about other topics. The big problem with this is you can lose many potential future sales. Current subscribers may even un subscribe from your opt in list and give your company a bad name.

Always be sure that the content of your newsletter is closely associated with your business. Do not stray too far away from what you know. While keeping the content relevant and updated, throw in some offers and free products. Just keep your visitors and subscribers as happy as possible. Hopefully, they will spread the news and help you get your business across the internet to others.

3) Include updated well-written articles.

Articles are the bloodline to any great newsletter. The better the articles you includes, the happier the customers and subscribers. Be sure that you have well written and content rich articles. The articles should be able to excite the subscribers and make them want more. Check for any grammatical errors in order for it to look professional and believable. If subscribers see that the newsletter has frequent errors, they will be turned off and leave.

4) Keep article updated and factual.

While you may feel that well written grammatically correct articles keep your newsletter alive, if the facts are outdated, you will lose customers. People today want up to the minute updates and fresh content.

If you need help, just do some research on your favorite search engine or visit a news website. Keep everything up to date as best as possible. Over time you will notice that the happy visitors and subscribers will stay with you as long as you produce a newsletter. The happier the customers, the more sales you will make. Always keep in mind that the visitors and subscribers are the bloodline to your business. Without them your business is just another thing on the internet people will overlook.

Publishing A Newsletter, Some Things To Think About

Friday, June 26th, 2009
Publishing a newsletter can help your business go from rags to riches. Not only can building an opt in list with your newsletter boost traffic to your website, it is also a widely used form of marketing that when used correctly, can help you generate sales and sign ups.

Your newsletter is like an ongoing promotion for your products. Give your subscribers valuable information and resources. You can also use your newsletter to keep your subscribers up to speed on news and upcomming events.

When you publish a newsletter, you are being seen as someone that has information. In other words, your subscribers will be impressed with you and view you as an expert in your field or niche. Word of mouth will happen as subscribers tell others about your newsletter and your subscriber base will grow virally.

If you have not started you newsletter yet, you are losing money every minute as you are reading this article. Sit with pen and paper and write some topics that your first published newsletter will contain. It will takes some hard work to get started, but once you get in a groove, your issues will become easier and easier to publish.

Getting started is the hardest step: Remember that this will be beneficial for your business and income.

1) What Should your newsletter be about?

Well, is your website about cats? If your website is all about cats and that is your area of expertise, than that is what your newsletter`s content will center on. One you have decided what your subscribers want information about from you, you are past the first step of the newsletter process.

Remember that your visitors will be your future customers. What info were they hoping to get from your newsletter about cats? This is a pretty wide topic. Your newsletter could easily cover types of species, cat health, cat supplies, cat stories. I would think that including some info about each topic would make for an informative newsletter for your subscribers and they would be thankfull for the free info.

2) Your articles should be the main body of your newsletter. You can add smaller sections for updates and short info snippets. Although not everyone can be a writer. You should always spell check and format your newsletter to look professional. It will only take a minute or so to edit any errors and the results will give you a clean and concise looking newsletter.

3) Make sure and provide your subscribers with factual information. If not you will lose subscribers faster than they can sign up to an optin form. Research is always a critical tool for you as a publisher. Time invested in research will pay off, when your readers are impressed by your knowledge and expertise.

4) Keeping subscribers waiting for their next issue from you is very important. You want to keep your subscribers excited when your newsletter arrives. One way of ensuring this is to always use fresh articles and content in your newsletter. If you republish old articles and content, your readers will catch on and become disinterested in your newsletter. The whole point is to get more subscribers and keep them until they become customers, not to lose them right off the bat.

5) When publishing a newsletter, always make sure to give credit where credit is due. If you do use other authors articles with their permission. You must include their name as author and all their authors resource info. Failure to do so is Plagarism and can get you into legal troubles. If you write your own articles give your products and business a plug somewhere at the bottom of the articles.

Publishing your own newslettr can be challenging at first, but financially rewarding as you master this form of marketing.

Hidden Secret to Increase Adsense Revenue - Your Newsletter

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009
So many web site owners miss the easiest and best opportunity to increase sales. In a rush to put up as many sites as possible in the vain hopes of generating Adsense revenue, they miss the opportunity to increase sales by not having a newsletter.

Far too many sites are being created with poor content, leaving visitors to continue wandering from site to site looking for good, solid, knowledgeable content.

If you have good content, you likely have some expertise that your visitors will want know more about. Why not set up a newsletter so you can share your expertise with others, and increase your adsense revenue at the same time?

If you are worried that you’re not a writer, you’re not alone. Just think of it as writing a quick note to a friend. You are sharing some information with a friend of yours. Your subscribers are like your friends.

Its key to now provide your “friends” with some valuable content. Since you are likely passionate about your field of expertise, your enthusiasm will come out, and your subscribers will be motivated. As an expert in your field, you can provide your newsletter subscribers with information that they can use. How do you increase your adsense revenue with this opportunity?

Give them a teaser! By giving them a paragraph or two, and then leading them to your web site, you can get them interested in more information, which your advertisers may be able to provide for them. If they are motivated by your valuable content, they will click on the ads, thus

increasing your adsense revenue.

If you have a list of the top paying keywords (http://www.adsenseheaven.com or http://www.adsensepayday.com are two that we use), you can easily find words that you can use for your site. Create sticky content that is optimized around these top paying keywords, and both you and your visitor can benefit. Your visitor gets useful content, and you can increase your Adsense revenue. A win / win.

Another opportunity that your subscribers can provide you is an outlet to sell affiliate products. As an expert in your field, your subscribers will follow your suggestions. This provides an excellent opportunity to increase your affiliate sales.

This opportunity comes with a responsibility though to your subscribers.

If you develop a relationship with your subscribers, you will build on your credibility and trust. One of the biggest complaints of most people surfing the internet is the question of integrity and trust of the information they have in front of them. If you can develop that trust, and keep that trust, your subscribers stay with you.

Its very easy to betray that trust. Once you do, they are gone, and so is your opportunity.

How can you lose this trust so easily? If your subscribers feel that you are pushing products on them, instead of helping them, they will unsubscribe. If the information that you are providing is not valued to the subscriber, they will unsubscribe.

Your subscribers have entered into a relationship with you based on trust. If you treat that relationship with trust, you’ll find that your subscribers are more

How to Handle Your Newsletter Unsubscribes

Monday, June 22nd, 2009
ginning, when you’re writing your newsletter and repurposing your articles in order to continuously grow your list, things are great.

You go to bed, wake up and find you have new ezine subscribers. It’s a wonderful feeling (almost as good as waking up to find you’ve sold some products).

Then comes the day when you put your heart and soul into your newsletter article, hit SEND and get a notice indicating that someone’s unsubscribed.

The most common question I hear from my clients is “What did I do wrong?” immediately followed by “Maybe I should stop publishing my newsletter since no one likes it.”

In learning how to handle your newsletter unsubscribes, you must first realize:

1. Typically, you did nothing wrong.

2. There IS a silent majority of your newsletter readers who learn from you and enjoy your newsletters, but may not speak up to tell you.

3. Chances are, those who unsubscribe are not your ideal client and would just be inflating your list by staying on it - remember, it’s the quality of your list, not the size that really matters.

That said, it can still hurt, especially when you give it your all.

Now that we’ve addressed your emotional response to unsubscribes, let’s talk about what you should do when you they occur:

1. Have the email with unsubscribe notifications go to someone, anyone, besides you. Even if this needs to be a fictional person at an email account you check every-so-often.

2. Know your unsubscribe percentage (calculate this by taking the number of unsubscribes for a given period, dividing it by your total subscribers and multiplying by 100) and continue to monitor it. If is rises significantly, take a look at how long your unsubscribes had been with you, where they came from and whether or not you significantly changed your usual ezine format/style of writing or started offering more promotions.

3. If you are using more than one system (a shopping cart and an ezine system like Constant Contact for example), ensure that the person is marked as “do not mail” for each and every system to avoid complaints down the road.

Unsubscribes are a natural part of your business - just as clients come and go, so do newsletter subscribers. The important thing is to know your average number of unsubscribes and act/adjust if the number unexpectedly increases.

Your Coaching Challenge

Create a process for handling your unsubscribes and ensure you are looking at the percentage at least once per month to be sure it’s not increasing (and if it is, WHY is it?). If you notice an increase in your unsubscribe percentage and have taken the steps above to determine what’s happening, create a survey (you can use www.SurveyMonkey.com for free) to ask your readers what you’re doing right, what they’d like to see more of and what they’d like to see less of - remember, the more specific you are in your questions, the better responses you’ll get and you can always offer a f’ree gift for your readers to complete the survey.
